	With the implementation of the "No Hazing" policy in the Navy, a number of rich traditions have gone by the wayside.   One of the best known was the "Crossing the Line" or Shellback Ceremony.   I went through this in 1981 and can say that it did not scar me mentally or otherwise degrade or harm me. 	A view of the after part of the ship from the SPS-48C platform on the forward mast.  This was taken during one of the rare times that all the radars were shut down while at sea.  We had anchored somewhere out in the I/O to perform maintenance.
