This is the YELL we have all been waiting for. This edition will be dedicated almost exclusively to the 1999 reunion in St. Louis, MO. Sorry to be a bit late, but a couple of the crucial details just dropped into place.

This is the first experience we have had in using a big-city downtown hotel as a reunion site. Previous reunions were held at hotels on the outskirts of town... and were much easier to do business with. Mike Bohannon really had his hands full in negotiating reasonable rates and accommodations for us. Be sure you give him a resounding "thank you" when you see him at the reunion.

It is unfortunate that I need remind you that 1999 dues are now in order. We are going to have some extra expenses at the reunion hotel and your dues contributions will help pay for those. Dues remain at $10.00 per year.

As in the past, your address label is year-coded to indicate the year our records indicate you are paid THROUGH. The year code appears just below your name. There are some members who have already paid '99 dues and we don't want you to pay twice so please check those address labels. We never solicit dues from our honorary members.

There is an entry on the reunion registration card to indicate your payment of 1999 dues. Even if you are unable to attend the reunion, please use this card and the enclosed pre-addressed envelope when sending dues. Checks should be payable to Preble Reunion Association.

REUNION 1999

Our reunion this year will be held at the Regal Riverfront Hotel, 200 South 4th St., St. Louis, MO.

Reunion dates are July 23-July 26.

Friday, July 23rd Attendees arrive according to own schedule.

Saturday, July 24th.. .Reunion activities.

Sunday, July 25th    Reunion activities continue, culminating in our farewell banquet in the evening.

Monday, July 26th Attendees depart according to own schedule.

ROOM RATES

Our negotiated room rate is $70.00 per room; single, double, triple or quad occupancy. To this must be added State and local taxes - currently 14.1%.Rates effective 3 days prior to 3 days after the reunion.

Check in time is 4:00 PM - Check out time 12:00 NOON. Baggage storage is available for those who find these times to be inconvenient.

RESERVATIONS

You must make your own reservations with the hotel. We do not do that for you.

We have obtained a block of 55 rooms for the reunion. The cut-off date to reserve one of these rooms for your use is June 23, 1999. After that date, any rooms not taken by us will be returned to general inventory for sale to other guests. It is in your best interest to reserve your room in early June. There is no room cancellation fee for reservations cancelled more than 72 hours prior to scheduled arrival.

To make your room reservations, call 1-800-325-7353 or 314-241-9500.    A non-refundable deposit equal to the first night's room charge is due with each reservation request. Acceptable methods of deposit include American Express, Diners Club, Discover Card, Mastercard and Visa credit cards. YOU MUST IDENTIFY YOURSELF AS A MEMBER OF THE USS PREBLE REUNION ASSOCIATION IN ORDER TO OBTAIN NEGOTIATED RATES!
